With either the Beginner or Professional plan, you can connect your own custom domain to your website.
When you first create your website it is created on a subdomain. This means your website will be located at xxxx.birthingyourbrand.com (this is selected during sign up).
While your website is visible to any visitors that go to that subdomain, it is best that once you have completed building your website that you update this to your own domain name.
Your domain name is the website address where you want your website to be located. You can purchase your domain name from various places for a small annual fee. We recommend Porkbun or Namecheap.
To connect your domain name to your Birthing Your Brand website, the first step is to update the A Record where you purchased your domain name.
Go to where you purchased your domain name and log in. For this example, we will be using Porkbun.
Once you log in, you should arrive at the Domain Management Screen.
Locate your domain and click the drop-down list to the right. On the menu that appears, click the Edit option next to DNS Records.
On the Manage DNS Records screen, add the correct A Records.
Set the Type to A – Address record
Leave the Host section blank.
For Answer, enter the following: 188.8.131.52
You can find the above number in your admin dashboard under Account > Custom Domain.
When this information is entered, click Add.
When this is completed, log in to Birthing Your Brand and go to Account > Custom Domain.
Enter the custom domain that you have selected and select Set Custom Domain.
It can take between 24 and 48 hours for your A record to be connected to the Birthing Your Brand server and your website updated around the world to be set at the custom domain.
After you have added your custom domain you can edit your website at yourdomainname.com/login.
